We Welcome You Back!

Hello Fernie! As our Summer Season opening was announced last week, I want to take a minute to tell you where we are as a resort and how we got here. First of all, everyone at Fernie Alpine Resort shares in the admiration, respect and concern for our medical community and essential workers. Many of

Community Togetherness

Fernie has always been strong in community spirit. The majority of people that you ask in town will tell you that they moved here for the snow but stayed for the community. When the threat of COVID-19 first arrived in Fernie, it didn’t take long for the townsfolk to stand up. We have come together

The Alders Stood No Chance!

Did you know that in the summer, we have a whole team of people dedicated to preparing our skiable terrain for winter? We call them the Saw & Brush Crew and this year, the stars aligned, and they were able to take the resorts ‘haircut’ to a whole new level. The early season conditions will

2019.20 Kids Multi Week Clubs

It’s almost that time of year. Winter is fast approaching and the time has come to start thinking about what the right ski/snowboard club is the right one for your child. We want to help make it easy. We’ve put together a complete list of all of your choices. The graphic is to keep it

Undoubtedly a little bias, we think that heading to Fernie Alpine Resort during any time of the year is a good idea, there’s just so much to do year-round! BUT, there are a few particular reasons why you should plan your girls road trip to Fernie in the early ski season. With the long anticipation

What the Brush!

The annual Brushing Program for the Fernie Ski Resort is having a very successful summer. The cooler weather and lower Fire Danger ratings have allowed the crew to keep working through the dog days of summer without restrictions due to Fire Danger. The crew this summer has also been doubled to allow us to catch

POWDER MATT

One year, while his friends were busy getting jobs and settling down, a young ‘Powder’ Matt Mosteller spent 63 days living in his car so he could ski every day. Now, 20 years later, Powder Matt has settled down a bit, but he’s still seeking outdoor adventure, and his stories can be seen regularly in the Calgary Herald, Vancouver Sun, Explore Magazine and many others. His first book, described by The Calgary Herald as “a handbook for living life to the fullest,” The Adventurer’s Guide to Living a Happy Life offers 63 daily meditations to help you broaden your horizons and achieve the ‘goosebump’ moments in life (sleeping in the car is optional).

Powder Matt is a crusader, constantly trying to find ways to fight childhood obesity, and getting people ‘outside’. Follow Powder Matt and his adventures through life on his blog.
