Fernie Alpine Resort is located in the south-east corner of the B.C. Rockies on Highway No.3 approximately 60 km (40 miles) from the Alberta and U.S. borders. It is 5 km (3 miles) from the City of Fernie and only 1.5km up the hill from the highway intersection. Whether driving yourself or taking the bus, the road to Fernie will lead you through some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. The drive is easy with no major mountain passes and the roads are well maintained.
Winter tires or chains are required on most routes in British Columbia from October 1 to March 31. These routes are marked with regulatory signs posted on numbered and un-numbered highways throughout the province. Learn more by following the link the below.
The City of Fernie, Tourism Fernie, the Fernie Chamber of Commerce, and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies have partnered to provide the 2017-2018 ski shuttle between downtown Fernie and the ski hill. The service will start on December 22nd, 2017 and run daily until April 8th, 2018. The ski shuttle will operate between 8:00am - 11:30pm.
The fare is $4 cash only each way (taxes included) and $35 (taxes included) for a 10 Ride Card. Single tickets are available for purchase on the bus and the 10 Ride Card can be bought from:
