Griz Kids Centre Programming for 2025/26

Programs for 3–5 Year Olds: Ski and Snowboard Lessons with Indoor Supervised Play

WELCOME

Opening on December 19, 2025

Set your preschooler up for a lifelong love of the mountains with our Griz Kids ski and snowboard lesson + indoor play packages!

Our kid-specific instructors focus on fun, safety, and foundational skills to build confidence and spark a passion for skiing and riding. Meanwhile, our dedicated indoor Griz Kids team keeps the stoke high with creative activities and playtime that will make their holiday unforgettable.

The Griz Kids Centre is located in the Cornerstone building, with access from the plaza beside Slopeside Café or on-hill from the Mighty Moose area.

• Full Day: 9 am–4 pm
• Half Day: 9 am–12 pm or 1 pm–4 pm

Licensed Facility
The Griz Kids Centre is a BC-licensed occasional care facility. Guests may book their children for up to 5 full days or 13 half days in a calendar month.

Capacity & Supervision
Up to 20 children, with an 8:1 supervision ratio.

FUN TRAX GROUP PACKAGES

Ages 3-5

Our Griz Kids Fun Trax group lessons combine the joy of learning with new friends and the guidance of our experienced kids’ instructors. With small group ratios and playful learning, these sessions help children develop essential mountain skills while having an unforgettable day outdoors.

All package bookings require full childcare registration forms. Groups are ski only. Ratio 1:4. Griz Kids packages available from Dec 20th to April 5th.

FULL DAY

  • Includes 2 x 2-hour group lessons, plus indoor play breaks.
  • 9 am–4 pm | Drop-off from 8:45 at Griz Kids Centre 
  • Optional Lunch Add-On: $10 (full-day only)

Designed for families who want a balance of adventure and comfort, our Private Care Packages blend personalized on-snow instruction with supervised indoor play. It’s the ideal choice for little ones who need extra support or flexibility throughout their ski day.

Includes indoor care and lesson(s).

Ski or Snowboard available.

Full Day

Includes 1 x 1hr private lesson + indoor play care.

Duration: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Drop-off from 8:45 am)

Private Lessons

Our Griz Kids private lessons are the perfect way to introduce your little one to skiing or snowboarding in a fun, comfortable environment. With one-on-one attention from a certified children’s instructor, your child can progress at their own pace and build confidence right from the start.

  • Available 7 days per week from Dec 19th - April 6th.
  • These can be 1 hr, 1.5 hrs, 2 hrs or 3-hour privates. We recommend starting with 1.5 or 2 hrs.
  • Pricing is per 1 child, 1 additional child may be added for a fee (max 2 children/lesson).
  • Meet at the Griz Kids Meeting Place, outside of the Griz Kids Centre.
  • Available for ski or snowboard.
  • Lesson only, no indoor care included.

A flexible and affordable way for local families to keep their little rippers learning all season long. These small-group sessions are perfect for building confidence, consistency, and friendships in a fun, familiar environment.

For residents of the Elk Valley (including: Fernie, Sparwood, Elko and Jaffray)

Proof of residency required upon arrival.

Ski: Can snowplow and stop safely, learning to turn.
SB: Can stop safely - pendulum floating leaf, learning toe-side/ heel-side edges.

Comfortable Novice

Mighty Moose – Platter Lift to Deer, Triple Chair – Beginner Chairlift
Ski: Can snowplow, stop, turn and control their speed.
SB: Can complete a heel and toe-side turn and control their speed.

Intermediate Plus

Deer Triple Chair – Beginner Chairlift, Elk Quad Chair – Intermediate Chairlift
Ski: Comfortable, strong plow to parallel on steeper and longer terrain.
SB: Learning to turn with confidence on all greens and upwards.
