Kids Private Lessons

Ski and Snowboard lessons are a fantastic way for young adventurers to dive into the world of skiing/riding! These lessons cater to children, emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skill development on the slopes. With certified instructors and specially designed programs, kids can learn to ski/ride, build confidence, and have a blast exploring the snowy terrain!

Unless otherwise noted, all programs meet at the Winter Sports School Meeting Place.

KIDS PRIVATE LESSONS

Ages 6-12

In our private lessons at Fernie Alpine Resort, your kids will uncover the mountain's wonders! While you take a breather, rest assured that your kids are delighting in personalized, one-on-one guidance tailored precisely to their aspirations and abilities. Our dedicated instructors specialize in teaching children, ensuring they have a blast and make the most of their day on the slopes.

Whether it’s your first day back on snow or you’re setting performance goals for the winter ahead, this tailored session helps you accelerate your progress and rediscover your rhythm on the mountain.

Griz Kids Private Lessons

Ages 3-5

Our Griz Kids private lessons are the perfect way to introduce your little one to skiing or snowboarding in a fun, comfortable environment. With one-on-one attention from a certified children’s instructor, your child can progress at their own pace and build confidence right from the start.

  • Available 7 days per week from Dec 19th - April 6th.
  • These can be 1 hr, 1.5 hrs, 2 hrs or 3-hour privates. We recommend starting with 1.5 or 2 hrs.
  • Pricing is per 1 child, 1 additional child may be added for a fee (max 2 children/lesson).
  • Meet at the Griz Kids Meeting Place, outside of the Griz Kids Centre.
  • Available for ski or snowboard.
  • Lesson only, no indoor care included.

KIDS 2 + 2 HOUR SPLIT-DAY PRIVATE LESSON

Make the most of your child’s day on the mountain with two focused coaching sessions — 2 hours before lunch and 2 hours in the afternoon. This split-day format allows time to rest and refuel mid-day, while keeping progress and excitement high. With personalized instruction and plenty of on-snow mileage, it’s the perfect balance of learning, adventure, and fun.

  • 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Supervised lunch option (1:00 pm - 2:00 pm) available for a fee. Call to enquire.

Start your season strong with a personalized training plan that builds skill, confidence, and consistency. The Progression Pass offers a series of 3, 5, or 7 afternoon two-hour private sessions at 20% off regular rates.

Work with the same pro each time to track your progress, stay motivated, and accelerate your development through focused, goal-driven coaching.

  • Available for purchase through December 31, 2025.
  • Please note that this product is a voucher consisting of 3, 5, or 7 two-hour afternoon lessons.

Discover the joy of skiing or snowboarding with our Learn to Ski/Ride program—designed specifically for guests who are brand new to the slopes. Your package includes:

Perfect for emerging enthusiasts! Our tailored lower mountain lesson package is your gateway to excitement! Embrace the adventure with a beginner's lower mountain lift pass and essential equipment rental, all set for your group lesson. Let the slopes be your classroom as you delve into the thrill of mastering a new skill! Rentals and Tickets are to be picked up prior to lesson start time.

  • Available 7 days per week from Dec 19th - April 6th (Snowboard Lessons available Fridays-Sundays & Holidays from Dec 19th - April 6th).
  • Available exclusively for Novice skiers and snowboarders.
