Snowshoeing is a great way to explore the trails in Fernie! No special skills are required – just strap a pair of snowshoes on your boots and go for a walk!

SNOWSHOE & DINE TUESDAYS

Every Tuesday night join us from 5:00pm-8:00pm! Enjoy a 1 hour guided snowshoe tour, finished off with a pasta & wine experience at Cirque Restaurant in Lizard Creek Lodge!

Program Details:

Price includes snowshoe tour, snowshoe rentals, pasta dinner with wine (or kids beverage) & gratuity. Taxes are not included.
Please pick up your snowshoe rentals at the Rental Shop by 4:30pm, and meet your guide at the lobby at Lizard Creek Lodge at 5:00pm.

2 HOUR – BOOM CREEK LOOP

This tour offers stunning views of Lizard Range. The Loop includes the wide track of Hobbit’s Trail and introduction with a slight access to the Fernie Nordic Society trail, a paid excursion for Nordic Lovers. Stop in the amazing meadow half way but keep an eye out for Elk and Moose in the area. You cross the Lizard Creek and then gain a little bit of elevation back to Hobbit’s Trail. This is a snowshoe favourite!

3 HOUR – HOBBIT'S TAIL, PHAT LARRY'S & HONEYBEE

This perfect trail begins by gently winding uphill to the base of Boomerang Chair, connecting onto Phat Larry’s for a fun technical trail single track through an old cedar forest. You’ll then connect with Honeybee, where the trail follows the contours of the mountain on a moderate smooth trail through forest of Balsam, Hemlocks, and Englemann Spruce. You will get a view of Morrissey Ridge across the valley as you get higher on this great trail - don’t forget to look back!

4 HOUR – DOUBLE CREEK EXTENSION TO SILK TRAIL

A beautiful “single track” treed loop with a great variety of terrain. The trail rolls through a forest of Larch and Cedar trees. Look for large burnt out logs, remnants of the early 1900 fires in the Elk Valley. The Double Creek Extension Trail extends your back country adventure by linking onto Silk Trail.
