On Sunday, January 11, 2026, Fernie Alpine Resort will say thank you to our local community with a special Community Appreciation Day, offering low-cost skiing and riding to residents of the Elk Valley, Jaffray, and Grasmere.
Lift Tickets by Donation
Local residents can ski or ride on January 11 with a minimum donation, with 100% of proceeds supporting the Fernie Food Bank.

Proof of Residency
Proof of local residency and photo ID is required to receive lift tickets and offers.
Accepted proof includes:

A driver’s licence with an Elk Valley, Jaffray, or Grasmere address, or

A document showing a local address (pay stub, utility bill, or tax bill) plus photo ID matching the name on the document

Hockey Days in the Plaza
On Sunday, locals and guests alike can also enjoy the Hockey Days event in the plaza, featuring a meet-and-greet with the Fernie Ghostriders Hockey Team.
Regional Note
Community Appreciation Day at Fernie Alpine Resort does not include Cranbrook and area residents. Cranbrook residents are invited to enjoy Community Appreciation Day at Kimberley Alpine Resort on January 11.
