WINTER FAT BIKING

FAT BIKING AT FERNIE ALPINE RESORT

FAT BIKE RENTALS

Winter fat bikes are the newest way to explore Fernie in the winter!  A “fat bike” is a version of a mountain bike, with wide tires which provide extra traction and stability in the snow.  Fernie Alpine Resort now offers groomed trails, rental bikes, and programs for winter fat biking.

Silk/Manchuria Trails & Scandia Loop (nordic / multi-purpose trails):
Approximately 10.9 km of widely groomed trails, that are also track set for classic cross country skiing. The trailhead is accessed by Parking Lot #4.

EVENING FAT BIKING TOUR

Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of an evening winter bike ride! Join our fully guided excursion led by our expert staff, exploring the enchanting winter landscapes in a magical, twilight setting.

Headlamps are provided. Advanced booking is required (48hrs in advance). Offered every Thursday night from 4.45pm – 6.30pm. Tours are available on additional evenings upon request.

· Duration 1.5-hour guided bike ride (4:45 – 6:30pm).
· Price included: Guided bike ride & winter fat bike rental if required.
· Pick up your rental bikes by 4.30pm at the FAR rental shop.
· Meet your guide outside the FAR rental shop

Price: $90.95 + tax (includes guide and rental bike)

GUIDED GROUP TOURS - SUNDAYS

Discover Fernie's winter wonderland in the most thrilling way possible! Join our Sunday afternoon Fat Bike Tour, led by our expert staff, as we unveil the newest winter adventure. Advanced booking is essential (48hrs in advance). These tours run every Sunday from 1:15 pm to 3:00 pm, with options for additional days upon request. Get ready for an unforgettable exploration of Fernie's winter beauty!

2025/26 Price:  $90.95 + taxes
Duration: 1.5-hour guided bike ride (1:15 - 3:00 pm)
Price Includes:  Guided bike ride & winter fat bike rental

Pick up your rental bikes before 1:15 pm at the FAR Rental Shop.
Meet your guide at the WSS Meeting Place at 1:15 pm - ready to go!

PRIVATE GUIDED FAT BIKING TOURS

Explore the thrill of winter riding on Fernie’s groomed fat bike trails with a private guided experience. Enjoy the freedom of pedaling through snow-covered terrain as your guide leads you on a route matched to your ability and adventure level.

• Choose from a Half-Day (3-hour) or Full-Day (5-hour) private experience for up to 3 guests, with the option to add additional participants for a small fee.
• Bike rentals are available through the Sports Alpine Rental Shop—please collect your equipment before your tour. All tours meet at the Winter Sports School meeting area.
• Book at least 48 hours in advance to secure your spot.

2025/26 Price:
Half Day (3-hours) - $199 + tax
Full Day (6 hours) - $299 + tax
Pricing is for up to 3 guests.
