  • Experience our mountain playground at sunrise. Slopes covered with fresh snow or freshly groomed, you get to enjoy the serenity of the morning in your own private playground before the hustle and bustle of activity. Private groups of up to 3 people; ages 10+ (10-16 yrs must be accompanied by an adult). Must register by 3:45 pm on the previous day.

Backcountry Basics

2 Days
Duration: 5 hrs/day

  • Backcountry Basics is a 2 day course introducing clients to the use of avalanche rescue equipment, touring equipment and uphill travel techniques, mountain environment awareness and skill improvement, all taking place in a safe, inbounds, avalanche controlled area (to be determined daily) . Clients will require lift tickets as the course will mainly utilize lift services to access many hidden areas throughout the resort, ideal for safe uphill travel and skill improvement. Potential clients should be min. Level 5 adventurous intermediates able to ride off-piste, who are inexperienced in uphill travel and the use of rescue equipment. This course will not give clients all the skills needed to travel in the backcountry alone, but prepare them for further courses offered through the Canadian Avalanche Centre. (AST courses)

Ladies Shred Camps

  • Ladies, whether you are expert or beginner, there is a place for you in our Shred Camp. Specifically designed to teach the skills and explore tactics required to enjoy the vast mix of terrain Fernie has to offer. Taught by women for women, Ladies Shred Camps target confidence and skill building in female snowboarders. This is a very friendly program and a perfect way to enjoy the sport you love. Early Girls Snowboard

  • For those keen ladies who want to start their day the right way! Enjoy the serenity of the mountain in the early hours. No crowds for the first hour as you get lift access one hour ahead of the public. This program is for experienced snowboarders looking to explore and enjoy the less visited parts of the mountain. Our professional female coaches will take you to secret stashes around the mountain, and provide tactics, strategies and skill focus to ensure each morning is an experience you will never forget. Program runs on Wednesdays from 7:45–11:00am.
