Join us on Saturday and Sunday at Bear’s Den for some on-hill retro fun. Take in all the event action and sip on a cold one while enjoying live tunes. Naturalist will be up at the Bear’s Den spinning the best retro beats to keep you grooving. We will have some fun contests, like the Retro Runaway and Ski Limbo contest to keep the vibes high. Enjoy a Banded Peak Brewing beverage and other tasty food and drinks. What’s better than a cold drink and good music??

Show off your grace and style as we bring back the classic ski ballet demonstration competition. Create a choreographed ski/blade routine set to music on the lower part of the Ballet run leading into the Bear’s Den. Pit Viper will reward the most stylish skiers and moves with killer shades! Think you’ve got the moves to match the swag? It’s time to prove it.

There are three categories:

Team/Pairs

This is an all-ages event, so participants’ choices MUST be family-friendly and clean, both in the song lyrics and content (explicit songs with words beeped out or silenced will not work). Routines should be 90 seconds long as per Olympic demonstration rules—but, honestly, this isn’t the Olympics. If you are still grooving after 90 seconds, we are going to cut you off. Routines will be judged based on your theme/outfit choice, style, artistic display, and technical execution.

Test your carving skills like never before! Take on the Lower Ballet slopes in this fun contest where precision and technique are key. Show us how low you can carve under the limbo setup, where the bar keeps going down. Think you can nail those sharp, fluid turns and still squeeze under the limbo? The ultimate test of balance, skill, and retro swagger. Winners are judged on technique, fluidity and style. You could score a fresh new pair of Pit Viper goggles or shades with some smooth, stylish turns. Let’s see who can carve their way into snowboard greatness!

Strut your stuff down our red carpet in your most outrageous retro ski and snowboard outfits. The flashier, the better! From neon spandex to wild patterns, the boldest outfits and best moves will be rewarded with some legendary Pit Viper shades. No pre-registration needed, just make sure you are in the Banded Peak Beverage gardens at 1:30pm on Saturday and get ready to walk the runway.

Ski Limbo

How low can you go? Test your flexibility and ski skills as we see who can ski under the limbo bar at the Banded Peak Beverage Garden. And you guessed it, the lowest of the low will be rewarded with some epic eyewear from Pit Viper. No pre-registration needed. Just show up for 1:30pm on Sunday, stretch and get ready to get low.

After an epic day on the mountain, head down to The Griz Bar for the Retro Weekend Après and Party, presented by Monster Energy! Get ready for a blast from the past with throwback tunes, good vibes, and non-stop fun, featuring DJ Illo and DJ Hedspin spinning all your favorites.

Après runs from 3 PM – 6 PM, followed by the evening party kicking off at 8 PM with DJs taking over the decks from 9 PM until midnight. This 19+ event is totally free—no cover, no tickets needed. It’s first come, first served, so make sure to get there early and secure your spot to party all night long!
