Griz Days will look a bit different this year due to COVID 19 restrictions.  Unfortunately, the resort is unable to host the Raging Elk Dummy Downhill this year. MODIFIED GRIZ DAYS

Our community’s story is one of perseverance and resilience in the face of great challenges. It is in keeping with that community spirit that the Fernie Chamber (as organizers) has been determined not to break a 44 year cherished local tradition. It is important to many of us to keep the spirit of the Griz alive and lift spirits in our community, especially during this trying time.

Griz Days 2021 will be a significantly different version this year on account of the pandemic. The community’s safety has always been the first priority as we pivot and adapt elements of the festival to meet evolving guidelines. Our events have been modified to comply with all COVID19 procedures and guidelines. We are unable to bring the community some of the more beloved events like the parade down main street, the live music, beer gardens, lumberjack displays and so forth. But we can still enjoy an impressive line-up of virtual content, drive-thru parade and other safe activities this Griz Days. And most importantly, we can still raise funds for local charities and celebrate community – at a safe distance. To those from afar who were unable to travel to Fernie for Griz Days this year, know that we appreciate you doing the right thing and we look forward to welcoming you back in person in future years. We hope our Griz fans all over the country and internationally can enjoy some of the virtual content from home this year! The Griz Days festival is very fortunate to have strong support among the local business and non-profit community, who collectively contribute most of the funds to stage the annual event via sponsorships.
