Getting to Legendary Fernie is easy with four international airports located just a short drive away.

Calgary International Airport
3.5 hour drive | Calgary is serviced from most major North American and European cities.

Canadian Rockies International Airport, Cranbrook, B.C.
1.25 hour drive | The Canadian Rockies International Airport offers several flights daily with Air Canada, Pacific Coastal and WestJet. You can easily fly direct to Calgary and Vancouver every day!

Kalispell, Montana
2-hour drive | Accessible by six major airlines — Alaska, Allegiant, American, Delta, Sun Country, and United. 

Spokane, Washington
4-hour drive | Accessible by Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines.

 

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS

For short-term visits to Canada, you will need a valid passport. Persons under 18 years travelling without their parents should have identification and a letter of authorisation from a parent or guardian to travel into Canada.

For citizens of certain countries, Canada requires a visitor visa to be obtained from their nearest Canadian Consulate before entry into Canada. Please check if this is necessary before your trip.

SHUTTLE SERVICES

A shuttle service is available from the Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook, BC and the Calgary International Airport in Calgary.

The City of Fernie, Tourism Fernie, the Fernie Chamber of Commerce, and Resorts of the Canadian Rockies have partnered to provide the 2022-2023 ski shuttle between downtown Fernie and the ski hill. The service will start on December 16, 2022, and run daily until April 2, 2023.

The shuttle will run on the hour every day from morning until later in the evening.  Stops include downtown and many hotel locations in town, along the highway to the resort and at the resort.

NEW - Tickets to ride the shuttle must be purchased in advance. The drivers can no longer take payment for tickets.

NOTE: Turn on your mobile device location services for your browser (i.e. on an iPhone > Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services - turn on and scroll down to Safari Websites and change to 'While Using' & 'Precise Location')

Ticket Prices (including tax): 

  • Single Ticket $4 (one-way)
  • 10-Single Rides Booklet $35.
  • 5 & under ride free with a ticketed adult.
  • Overnight guests* staying less than 27 nights at local accommodations that are members of Tourism Fernie ride for free with a special ticket that they can pick up from their hotel front desk or reservations team.   • Based on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited seating on the current schedule, with the bus seating up to 18 passengers. No pre-booking of seats. Groups cannot be accommodated and should book a private shuttle or taxi at their own cost.

Tunnel49 Adventure - Calgary to Fernie Shuttle

Looking for a lift from Calgary to Fernie? Take a shuttle starting December 15th! Travel time is 3.5 hours.

Calgary Airport - Fernie: $199.99 + GST + 9% fuel surcharge
Available daily - Departing Fernie at 8 am and departing YYC at 1 pmAdditional routes available on Wednesdays and Saturdays: Fernie to YYC at 11 am and YYC to Fernie at 4:30

  • Two pieces of luggage plus one carry on per passenger. $20 charge for each additional piece
  • Up to 14 passengers per trip - no minimum number of passengers required
  • Any guests who miss their original shuttle due to flight delays will be reaccommodated to the next available T49 Shuttle for a fee of $50.

RCR is not responsible for unforeseen expenses if a shuttle is missed.
