Retro Weekend 2026 presented by Banded Peak Brewing

Get ready to dust off your neon spandex leggings, put on those classic retro snowsuits, and pull out your leg warmers for the most legit throwback weekend of the year! It's time to tease your hair to the sky, strap on your headband, and dive into a weekend packed with contests, parties, and non-stop retro fun.

It's a full weekend of retro vibes, so grab your friends, throw on your wildest gear, and get ready to party like it's 1985!

Contest Details

Show off your grace and style as we bring back the classic ski ballet demonstration competition. Create a choreographed ski/blade routine set to music on the lower part of the Ballet run leading into the Bear's Den. Think you've got the moves to match the swag? It's time to prove it.

There are three categories:

  • Ski
  • Snowblade
  • Team/Pairs
This is an all-ages event, so participants' song choices MUST be family-friendly and clean, both in the song lyrics and content (explicit songs with words beeped out or silenced will not work).
Routines should be 90 seconds long as per Olympic demonstration rules—but, honestly, this isn't the Olympics. If you are still grooving after 90 seconds, we are going to cut you off. Routines will be judged based on your theme/outfit choice, style, artistic display, and technical execution.  Registration details coming soon.

Test your carving skills like never before! Take on the Lower Ballet slopes in this fun contest where precision and technique are key. Show us how low you can carve under the limbo setup, where the bar keeps going down. Think you can nail those sharp, fluid turns and still squeeze under the limbo? The ultimate test of balance, skill, and retro swagger. Winners are judged on technique, fluidity and style.  Registration details coming soon.

Strut your stuff down our red carpet in your most outrageous retro ski and snowboard outfits. The flashier, the better! From neon spandex to wild patterns, the boldest outfits and best moves will be rewarded. No pre-registration needed, just make sure you are in the Banded Peak Beverage gardens at 1:30 pm, Saturday and get ready to walk the runway.

Ski Limbo

How low can you go? Test your flexibility and ski skills as we see who can ski under the limbo bar at the Banded Peak Beverage Garden. And you guessed it, the lowest of the low will be rewarded with some epic prizing. No pre-registration needed. Just show up for 1:30 Sunday, stretch and get ready to get low.

EVENT FAQs

The Bear's Den events are free to take part in, but a valid lift ticket or season pass is required to access the Bear's Den. 

There are no tickets or cover charge for the Retro Party.   However, there is a set capacity for the party, so get there early to make sure you can get in and don't miss out.   Party is 19yrs+, ID required.
