| Fernie, BC – With summer just around the corner, we’re excited to share what’s happening at Fernie Alpine Resort. From expanded biking and hiking opportunities to new trails and facility improvements, there’s plenty to look forward to this summer.
Our summer season kicks off with a Preview Weekend on June 20 & 21, followed by daily summer operations beginning Thursday, June 25. Here’s a snapshot of our summer dates and hours: Daily Operations: June 25th to September 7th New for 2026 We’ve added a Preview Weekend on the Elk Chair, along with three additional operating days on the Timber Chair during statutory holidays, giving guests even more opportunities to get out on the mountain this summer. A brand-new bike trail, Yellowjacket, will open this season, replacing the former Honeybee trail with a fun and flowing blue-rated experience. Top Gun, one of our most popular trails, has also undergone a major rebuild, creating an even smoother and more flow-focused ride. Fun for the Whole Family Along with hiking, biking, and sightseeing, guests can learn about local geology, plants, and wildlife at Nature Bob’s Interpretive Centre. Recent upgrades to the centre will make for an even more engaging and educational experience. Kids can burn off some energy at the Elk Grove Forest Playground, a shaded play area that’s perfect for hot summer days. There will also be plenty of special events and activities throughout the season. Our SCOTT Downhill Mountain Bike Race Series features weekly novice races on Tuesday evenings and intermediate/advanced races on Thursday evenings, providing opportunities for riders of all abilities to participate. The big guns arrive on July 11th & 12th for the BC/Canada Cup Downhill Race—an exciting showcase of speed, skill, and competition that spectators won’t want to miss. On Saturdays, enjoy Music on the Mountain at Lost Boys Café, the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. Whether you’re hard-core, soft-core, or somewhere in between, you’ll find your jam at Fernie Alpine Resort this summer. See you on the mountain!
