Running weekly throughout July and August, these Fernie summer camps give children the opportunity to explore alpine environments, stay active on the trails and make lasting friendships in a safe and professionally guided setting.
Whether your child is discovering wildlife and navigation skills or progressing their mountain biking technique, every camp day is filled with adventure, learning and fresh mountain air.
Lizard Rangers Summer Camps
(Ages 6–12)
The popular Lizard Rangers Nature Camps are designed for curious young adventurers who love being outdoors. Programming is inspired by the WildSafeBC Rangers approach, helping children develop awareness, confidence and respect for the mountain environment.
Camp activities run from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, with supervised early drop-off available from 9:00 am, making it easy for families to plan their day. Camps operate in both 3-day and 5-day weekly formats throughout July and August.
During the week, campers may experience:

Group sizes are intentionally small, with a maximum ratio of 10 participants per leader, helping ensure a supportive learning environment. Lift access is included, and campers benefit from priority lift lines to maximise activity time on the mountain.
LIZARD RANGERS KIDS CAMP
Freeride Mountain Bike Camps
(Ages 8–16)
Fernie Alpine Resort is home to some of British Columbia’s most exciting lift-access riding, and the Freeride Mountain Bike Camps provide structured coaching for beginner and intermediate riders looking to build skills and confidence.
These 2-day camps run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm and are delivered in small groups with a maximum ratio of 7 participants per coach.
Coaching focuses on progressive skill development tailored to each rider’s ability level and may include:

Braking, descending and cornering techniques

Riding switchbacks and varied terrain

Front-wheel lifts and pedalling efficiency

Introduction to small features and freeride fundamentals
Lift tickets are included, and participants use priority lift lines to maximize trail time. Bike rentals can be reserved in advance, with a discount for camp participants.
