Stag Leap Headwall Hustle

Fernie Alpine Resort is excited to be the host site for the 2025 Headwall Hustle trail running race.

Organized by Stag Leap Running Co, the Headwall Hustle is a punchy 15km race segment that is part of it’s parent race, the Elk Valley Ultra. This route, crafted by founder Abi Moore, offers a challenging and scenic trail through Fernie Alpine Resort. Participants will climb through Cedar Bowl up to the base of the Lizard Headwall, then traverse over into Timber Bowl for a steep descent to the finish line.   Although the full-length Ultra is still on hold for another year, it celebrates the return of Stag Leap Running Co. and trail racing in Fernie.

Limit: 150 racers.
Entry Fee: Adult $75 (June 1-30) // $85 (July 1-23)
Youth $55 (<19).
**Please note: If you wish to compete in the 15km as a youth (<19), you and a parent/guardian must reach out to the Race Director in advance of registering.**

Categories: Male, Female and Non-Binary, <40 (Open), 40-59 and 60+, with prizing 1st-3rd in each.

REGISTRATION RULES

You need to do an online RCR Event Waiver BEFORE registering. Please ensure your FIRST + LAST name used on your waiver, matches your ultrasignup account.

• Competitors 16yrs and older must complete the RCR Event Agreement. The competitor can complete this waiver.
• Competitors 15 yrs and younger must complete BOTH the RCR Event Agreement AND the RCR Parental Agreement. The competitor’s parent or legal guardian must complete these two agreements.

If you’re unable to race, you are able to sell your entry – please reach out to the Race Director.

– Compulsory Check-in & Waiver Signing: 4pm-7pm (Park Place Lodge)

SATURDAY JULY 26
– 15km Race Start Time: 8am, from Fernie Alpine Resort
– Brunch 10:30am-12pm
– 15km Awards: 11am, at Finish Line

Post race, all racers receive at 20% discount off lift tickets at Fernie Alpine Resort.  Take a beautiful scenic chairlift ride to the Alpine and explore or just take in the sights.
