Perseid Meteor Shower Viewing & Mountaintop Camping Event
Imagine staring at the stars and seeing a meteor shower in a beautiful, dark, mountain top setting! Join us for this unique and amazing Perseid Meteor Shower viewing & mountain top camping experience.
Your experience starts at 3pm in the plaza, check in at Winter Guest Services, load your gear and then it’s up the Timber chairlift to your camping area in the alpine to set up your camp site for the evening (hosts are available to assist).
After a guided hike you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at Lost Boys Cafe, followed by some special meteor shower programming including an educational talk from our camp host on what the Perseid Meteor shower is and what causes it, followed by a special photography session with professional photographer Matt Kuhn. Matt will share a few tips on night photography, what gear is needed & how to capture the meteors. Following dinner and the education sessions, head out onto the Lost Boys deck or back to your campsite to view the meteor shower which is set to peak between dusk and dawn.
The next morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at Lost Boys Cafe before camp clean up and loading the Timber chairlift back to the base.
What To Bring:
– Sleeping Bags & Pillow
– Sleeping pad
– Personal items (toothbrush, change of clothes etc)
– Warm clothes (jacket, sweater) as alpine weather fluctuates
– Good walking shoes/hiking boots
**There are a limited number of tents available on a first come, first booked basis. Tents available include a 2, 4 and 6 man size. Once those are booked, additional guests are required to bring their own tent & sleeping pad. All gear is transported up and down from the site for you.

(**Note: As per our lift policy – Toddlers must be able walk in order to ride the chairlift and access the event site. Therefore, infants are not permitted for this event)

Cancellation Policy – This event is weather dependent. There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. A call will be made on Friday, August 10th based on the weather forecast. If the weather looks like it will not cooperate for the event, participants will be notified and receive a full refund or can move their booking to a regular mountain top camping Saturday (based on availability).
