The first event in the Raging Elk Community Event Series and a highlight of Fernie’s winter Griz Festival! Strictly for fun, this competition features imaginative & hilarious “dummies” on skis launching themselves off a gigantic jump beside the Timber Chair.

The dummies can be created from various materials, and creativity is stressed. They are judged on their construction, creativity, theme, distance, and the carnage factor when they land.

Prizes are awarded for the best construction, theme/name, disintegration, flight, and more!

Get back to your snowboarding roots with the Dirty Dancer Banked Slalom, a throwback to the '80s when snowboarders were the outlaws of the wild west, banned from most ski resorts and forced to fight for the right to shred! Well, times have changed, and we want you to celebrate by entering this awesome event for all ages.

While times count, this event is really all about hanging out with fellow snowboarders and celebrating the community. It's a chance to connect with fellow riders and enjoy the vibe of snowboarding culture. Whether you're racing for the podium or just there for the good times, it's about the experience and the people.

We’re thrilled to announce the return of an event that had everyone embracing winter in all its frosty glory - The Raging Elk Fernie Frosty Four is back for its second year! After an incredible inaugural run, this winter multisport race returns to celebrate all the snowy fun you can have at Fernie Alpine Resort.

The Raging Elk Fernie Frosty Four is a unique relay-style race that brings together four of the most iconic winter activities at Fernie Alpine Resort: skiing/snowboarding, snowshoeing, nordic skiing, and fat biking. Each sport makes up one stage of the race, creating an exciting progression from start to finish.

Yes, it’s a race, but just like last year, it’s about more than speed. It’s about fun, community, challenge, and celebrating the end of winter in true Fernie style. Whether you're pushing for a fast time or simply enjoying the adventure, this race is designed for everyone.

You can take on all four stages solo to test your endurance, or team up with friends and let each person tackle a different leg. Costumes are encouraged, so show off your creativity to the community.

End the Winter Season on a High Note!

Join us for an unforgettable final weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and celebration as we close out the season in style.

Saturday: Spend the day making your last turns with family and friends before heading to the plaza for an afternoon of live music, dancing, and good times in our BBQ & Beverage Gardens.

Sunday: Start the morning with fresh tracks, then make your way to the Raging Elk Slope Soaker to cheer on daring skiers and riders as they attempt to skim across the pond. After the last splash, return to the plaza for more live music and festivities as we dance into the final hours of the season.

Don’t miss this incredible weekend of spring skiing, great tunes, and all-around good vibes.

Celebrate the final day of the winter season with our final event of the Raging Elk Community Event Series!

Strap on your skis or snowboard and see if you can make it across our Slope Soaker pond.

Participants are encouraged to dress in creative costumes, as crossing the pond is not the only goal. Extra prizes and points will be awarded for creativity/costumes, effort, crowd reaction, biggest splash, etc.

This fun event is open to anyone 12 years of age and older.
