Tears & Gears Dualthon 2025

Fernie Tears & Gears is back this August 30, 2025!

This trail run and mountain bike duathlon is known for its fun, supportive community feel and takes people on the best trails at the Elk Valley Nordic Centre, Mount Fernie Provincial Park and Fernie Alpine Resort. Tackle the trail run and mountain bike solo, or find a teammate and tackle it together. For the little shredders out there, there is also a kids’ race.

Fernie Alpine Resort will host part of the trail run in the resort. Runners will enter the resort from Mt. Fernie Provincial Park, following the route from Megahurtz Trail to Boom Trail. They will then continue along Boom Trail to GT Racer, descending GT Racer to reach Cedar Trail. From there, runners will proceed to Black Forest Trail and re-enter the provincial park to complete the course.
Please note: GT Racer is a mountain bike trail and is not designated for shared use. For safety reasons, runners are not permitted to pre-run this trail. On race day, GT Racer will be temporarily closed to bike traffic until all runners have completed this section of the course.
