Raging Elk Kinky Rail Jam Series – Event #2 2023

UPDATE:  Event #2 has been expanded until February 20th! 

Skiers and snowboarders will slide with style at the Fernie Alpine Resort Rail Park as they compete against their peers for the top spot in their respective categories.

The event is expanded into a three-part series. Three events spread over January, February, and March. Each event will showcase different features in the rail park by local shredders.  The January and March events will be in person, with the February event being virtual.

Event #2 – February 4th – 20th VIRTUAL FORMAT

Join us in the Rail Park for this unique virtual-style rail jam.  Hit the park, capture your lines on video, and upload your video entry using our online submission form.
Share your videos on social media, tag @FernieAlpineResort, @RagingElkHostel, and #RagingElkRailJam for extra kudos!

How to compete in the Virtual Format:

1. Register for the event
   1. Registration is $15 (including tax)
      1. NOTE:  Athletes do have to register for each event they want to participate in ($15 per event)
   2. The online registration link will be posted below
   3. **PLEASE READ PRIOR TO REGISTERING**
      1. RCR Event Release Agreements are required to be completed during the registration process.
         1. Competitors 16yrs and older need to complete one waiver, the Event Release Agreement – the competitor can do the Event Release Agreement themselves.
         2. Competitors 15yrs and younger need to have their parent or legal guardian complete two waivers –  the Event Release Agreement AND the Parental Consent Agreement. So your parents/legal guardian must register you.
         3. Note: In section 3 of the Release Agreement section, there is a typo – the wording should say Event instead of Ski School; it should say, “Payment for the EVENT will not be processed until the Parent/Guardian completes the Release Agreements.”
         4. Once the agreement is complete, it will auto-fill the Agreement IDs into the registration form, and you can go through to payment and complete your registration.
         5. The registration link will be posted soon.
2. Ride the featured rails/boxes in the Rail Park on the event dates. You can film and ride the features you are comfortable with (any in the rail park).
3. Capture your line on video
   1. 1. Can be on a single feature, a full-line, and/or multi-line/feature video edit
      2. Capture one trick or several tricks; however, video submissions can only be a maximum of 1 minute long.
      3. You must include a shot of the Fernie Flags & Sponsor Banners in your video so we know you rode the park over the specific event dates.
4. Upload your video using our online entry form
   1. Online Entry Form is available on this event page starting on the 1st day of the event.
   2. Videos must be under the maximum size of 1GB
   3. Videos will be viewed by our panel of judges

Competition Rules:

• All registrations must be ONLINE.
• The Raging Elk Kinky Rail Jam is open to all ages, disciplines, and abilities.  Please register in the gender category with which you identify.
• Helmets are MANDATORY for all competitors. Submissions where the skier/rider is not wearing a helmet will not be judged.
• One submission per competitor. Your video submission must not be longer than one minute or bigger than 1GB

Judging Criteria:

• Videos and be judged on the following:
  • Trick execution
  • Style
  • Difficulty
  • Stoke Factor (we want to see you having fun out there!)
