*EVENT #3 UPDATE*

Due to the Rail Park being closed on March 28th and 29th, we have extended the filming deadline to Tuesday, March 30th. The submission deadline is moved to Wednesday, March 31 by 9 pm.

Dates for the final rail event are being extended! Videos can now be filmed between March 19 and March 30th.  The new submission deadline for videos is Wednesday, March 31 by 9 pm MDT.

The Raging Elk Kinky Rail Jam event returns this winter with a new virtual series! Skiers and snowboarders will slide in style at Fernie Alpine Resort Rail Park as they compete against their peers with online video submissions.

Although things might look a little different this year, we have actually expanded the Kinky Rail Jam event to bring your more days shredding in the park, more features and more prizes! We now have a series of three events running from January to March, each event showcasing different features for our local shredders.

When and where:

One weekend every month in the Fernie Alpine Resort Terrain Park.

• January 22 – 24
• February 26 – 28
• March 19 – 28

How does the series work?

Each event will have a different set of features in the Fernie Alpine Resort Terrain Park marked with flagging. Hit the lines, capture your best hit, and upload your video entry using our online submission form.

Share your videos on social media, tag @FernieAlpineResort, @RagingElkHostel, and #RagingElkRailJam for extra kudos!

How to compete:

1. Complete your RCR Event Waiver(s).
   1. Competitors 16yrs and older need to complete an Event Waiver
   2. Competitors 15yrs and younger need to have their parent or legal guardian complete BOTH the Event Waiver AND the Parental Consent Waiver
   3. Waiver(s) can be completed online via the following link:

   4. If you completed your Waiver(s) for the first or second event, those waivers cover this event, so you do not need to do them again
2. Ride the flagged features in the Rail Park on the event dates
3. Capture your line on video
   1. 1. Can be on a single feature, a full-line, and/or multi-line/feature video edit
      2. Riding with yourself and don’t have a mate to film your runs?  Don’t worry, email [email protected] or call 250-423-2401 to arrange a time for a volunteer or staff member to help film your run.  The video will then be sent to you so you can edit and upload your submission.

Waivers:

All competitors must complete the resort event waiver(s) for their entries to be counted.

• If you complete your Event Waiver online, you only have to do it once for the 2020-21 Winter season.
• Competitors aged 16 and older must complete an Event Waiver and can complete the waiver themselves.
• Competitors aged 15 and under must have their parent or legal guardian complete both the Event Waiver AND the Parental Consent Waiver.

Video Submission Form:

Use the form below to submit your video. The form will be live again on March 19th

Only one submission per registrant with a maximum length of one minute and 1GB.  Although it’s only one submission, you can feel free to edit your submission to include more than 1 line or trick on the feature(s). Submission must include a shot of the sponsor banners or flags in the park (so we know that you shot your video over the 3-day window).  All submission must be in by Wednesday, March 31st at 9 am (MDT)

Competition Rules:

• All registrations must be ONLINE. No on-the-day, in-person registration will be accepted.
• The Raging Elk Kinky Rail Jam is open to all ages, disciplines, and abilities.
• Helmets are MANDATORY for all competitors. Submissions where the skier/rider is not wearing a helmet will not be judged.
• MANDATORY EVENT WAIVERS – Participants must have completed their RCR event waiver and parental consent waiver for their entry to be counted.
• One submission per competitor.  Your video submission must not be longer than one minute or bigger than 1GB.
• Appropriate face coverings must be worn at all times.
• Participants and guests must maintain social distancing of at least 2 meters while participating in these events.

Judging and Prizes:

Judging:
For the final rail jam of the season, judging and results will be different from previous events.  Instead of awarding favourite style, trick, and edit for each category like the previous 2 events, the judges will be judging your full edit and awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for “best edit” in each category.  Judges will be considering your tricks, style, and line all together while watching the edits.

In addition, we will once again be awarding the Raging Elk Pick (judged by our title sponsor Raging Elk).
