BOMBSNOW MAGAZINE COMING TO FERNIE FOR NEW FERNIE 4 FILM FEST EVENT
Fernie, BC – 4 Days. 4 Minutes. 4 Grand. Bomb Snow Magazine, Teton Gravity Research and Fernie Alpine Resort are excited to announce the FERNIE 4, a Four-Minute Film Festival.
This April, ten sponsored teams and one fortunate wild-card team (hopefully that’s you) will take over Fernie Alpine Resort. The mission is to create the best four-minute ski or snowboard film, with a team of four riders, filmed and edited on-site during four-days of competition. At the end of the four-day event, all 11 teams will submit their four-minute edits to be shown in their entirety and the competitors will decide who’s going to take home a $4,000 cash prize.
You have until February 21st to submit a 4-minute film for your change to win the Fernie Fortune wild-card spot. Each team must have four people and edits must be no longer than 4 minutes. For more details and to enter your video visit the Teton Gravity Research website.

An IFSA Qualifier Event
Fernie, BC – Fernie Alpine Resort is proud to announce the return of Junior Freeskiing to Fernie. This year’s event will once again be an IFSA National Event stop. Winners of the Fernie event will gain points towards being the North American Junior Freeski Champion! Come out and watch some of the best junior freeskiers in North America display their skills here at Fernie Alpine Resort.
The JEEP Junior Freeski presented by Rossignol and Smith Optic is at Fernie Alpine Resort February 18th – 21st and is part of a RCR Junior Freeski series, other events include Kicking Horse Mountain Resort on February 6th & 7th and Kimberley Alpine Resort on February 27th & 28th. On Sunday, January 10th , Fernie Alpine Resort will say ‘Thank You’ to local communities by offering a FREE day of skiing and riding to the residents of Fernie, Elko, Elkford, Jaffray, Sparwood and all residents living in the Elk Valley, as part of the annual Community Appreciation Day. A fundraising BBQ will be held with all proceeds going towards a local charity. Please note that Photo ID and proof of local residency (drivers license, pay stub etc) are required to receive the lift ticket.

FERNIE ALPINE RESORT 2015/2016 OPENING DAY ON FRIDAY!
Fernie, BC – The Griz says “It’s time to ski”! Fernie Alpine Resort, the famed powder leader on the Powder Highway is opening this Friday, kicking off the 2015/16 winter ski season and we’re going to go 7 days a week right from the get go!
Fernie has received 116 cm of snow season to date, with 14 cm of that coming in the last 7 days, currently the settle snowpack at the Bear Plot is at 67 cms. Lifts operating starting Friday, will include the Elk Chair, the Bear Chair and the Mighty Moose. These lifts will provide over 2,500’ of vertical skiing, with skiing on the Bear to mid mountain, and down the Lizard run to the base. We currently have very good coverage with loose packed and machine groomed terrain/snow, it will be a great opportunity to get out and get your ski legs going in advance of the full mountain opening! There will be a variety of on mountain services which will be open from Friday, including the Daylodge, Griz Bar, Sports Alpine Retail Shop, Rental Shop and Guest Services. The new Cirque Restaurant & Lounge at Lizard Creek Lodge, will officially open with the start of the new season, make sure that you drop by to experience Fernie’s newest and best food & beverage experience.
