Discover the thrill of Downhill Mountain biking under the expert guidance of one of our bike coaches. Learn the basics and gain confidence!

This clinic includes a 3-hour coaching session, 3-hour bike rental and 3-hour lift pass.

For Novice (Level 1) riders only. 

  • Maximum 7 participants in the lesson.
  • Private groups only.
  • Age 8 & over. Younger children may book into lessons with a parent/adult.
  • Based on availability.

ADULT DOWNHILL CLINICS

Join our expert coaches in these exclusive adult-specific mountain bike clinics, designed for those looking to gain more skills and confidence on the trails.

Dates:

    • July 6 - Coasting - Berms & Turns (Beginner / Intermediate - Level 2/3)
    • July 13 - Aerial - Pumping, Popping & Jumping (Intermediate / Advanced - Level 3/4)
    • July 20 - Line Choice - Roots, Rocks & Drops (Level 2/3)

Time: 10:00 am-3:00 pm (4 hrs instruction & 1hr lunch break)

Clinic Cost: $140 per person per clinic

    • Lift tickets & coaching are included in the clinic cost.  Discounted rentals are available for clinic participants.

Who: The clinic is offered to those 17 years and over.

Ability Level: Participants should be comfortable riding downhill at the recommended level.

DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKE CLINIC
WOMEN 50+

FUNDAMENTALS - JULY 7

You're never too old to learn new skills!

This one-day clinic is for women 50+ who have little or no experience on a Downhill Mountain Bike and would like to learn the fundamentals of riding in a fun, safe, professional, and supportive environment.

Francesca leads this clinic. An avid mountain person, hiking,  biking,  horse riding, skiing... whatever it takes to get outside! She's raised three kids in Fernie and is getting grey-ter every year✌️

Date: July 7, 2024

Time: 10:00 am-3:00 pm (1hr lunch break)

Clinic Cost: $140+GST

    • A lift ticket is included in the cost

Who: The clinic is offered to anyone who identifies as a woman who is 50+

Ability Level: This program is for Level 1/2. It is an introductory to Downhill Mountain Biking, but basic biking skills are required.

Registration:  Registration is open to a maximum of 7 participants (minimum of 3 participants).

KIDS & YOUTH FREERIDE CAMPS

Teaching kids ages 8-16 to ride hard and safe, while building confidence. Specialized multi-day camps geared to your child's ability and age. Let our team of professional coaches help them tackle Fernie's challenging downhill mountain biking terrain.

For ages 8-12 (Kids) & 13-16 (Youth). 7:1 participant-to-coach ratio.

2024 Dates:
Kids - Beginner - July 9-10, July 30-31
Kids - Intermediate - July 16-17, August 6-7
Kids - Advanced - July 23-24, August 13-14

Youth - Beginner - July 11-12, August 1-2
Youth - Intermediate - July 18-19, August 8-9
Youth - Advanced - July 25-26, August 15-16

Time: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

2-Day Camp - $319 + GST

The price includes instruction and a 2-day lift ticket. A disc brake mountain bike is required. Helmets, gloves, and pads are mandatory for all participants. Discounted rental bikes (15%) are available.

MOUNTAIN BIKE ABILITY CHART



LEVEL 1

Novice

You are new to mountain biking or cross country biking, and have basic bike handling skills and are comfortable and in control of your bike on paved surfaces.



LEVEL 2

Beginner

You have tried mountain biking or cross country biking before, riding off-road rocky terrain with limited experience, riding green runs.



LEVEL 3

Intermediate

You are comfortable on your mountain bike and have been riding single track trails and most blue runs with confidence. You can control bike speed and direction most of the time and have been riding for at least 2 years.



LEVEL 4

Advanced

You have already developed strong riding skills and have a minimum of 3 years of mountain biking experience. You ride blue and most black run with confidence, like technical descends, obstacles and fast-paced riding.
